Dr. Fernando Ceron earned his Medical degree from the National Autonomus University of Mexico (UNAM), and specialized as Surgeon from the same University. He is recognized by the Mexican Board of General Surgery, and Mexican Board of Gastroenterology as a Digestive Surgeon. Also, Laparoscopic Surgeon active member of Mexican Association of Endoscopic Surgery. Former President of the Mexican Association of Endoscopic Surgery (2004-2005), and founding member and former President of the Mexican Society of Obesity Surgery. Active member of the IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity). Dr. Cerón has experience in obesity surgery performing surgeries with greater acceptance worldwide for its results such as: gastric bypass, gastrectomy, laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding and currently laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. He also is certified to perform laparoscopic surgery adjustable gastric banding for the Hospital Sauvergarde Clinnique of Lyon France.
He was the first surgeon in Mexico to perform an obesity surgery in institutional hospitals as a protocol for treatment for extreme obesity. This type of surgery is only performed in certified hospitals with the infrastructure.
